Born in Belgium to great lovers of the arts, I grew up with a deep appreciation for art and culture. Though my family was more interested in classical arts, my passion for technology as well as art led me towards the world of media arts. Once I graduated from high school in Belgium, I got on a plane to the Big Apple with one specific purpose in mind – to pursue a career in web design and make it on my own. Although I have always been an autodidact, I felt it was important to solidify my training in web design if I was to have a long and successful career. That’s when I decided to pursue a B.F.A. in Media Arts (majoring in Web Design & Interactive Media) at The Art Institute of New York City, where I also happened to meet my lovely wife. I enjoyed my studies tremendously and feel that they have contributed a great deal to my professionalism in the field of web design. Now, several years since graduation, I am proud to be responsible for the creation and maintenance of tens of websites in both the private and the public sector. My main specializations are HTML and CSS design, though I am also well-versed in e-commerce features, search engine optimization, platforms, and advertising. I’m also a strong believer in continuing education. Therefore, I make it a point to be on the cutting edge of graphic design and digital media. Aside from web design, I devote much of my time to my hobbies – photography, animation, and film. And of course my wonderful family – Christina my wife and our 2 children, who make it all worthwhile.
Did You Know? All About the Sering Heritage…
Sering is originally a French name that harks back to ancient times. The family was based in what is now known as Belgium, in the area surrounding Liege. According to Carolyn Syron Valentine’s manuscript, Sare, Seryoen, Syron, Searing; Their Wills, Deeds and Ways, from 1925, Jean Van Seyreyn was found to be the Bishop of Liege in the year 1440. In addition, in the year 1557 the French Mighiel Sereo was said to be found in London, where he attended the French Church with his wife Francise and their two daughters. The Sering family name lives on to this day, though it is often takes on the variants of Serres or Searing. Read more in the Sering Family Genealogy Forum.
